Kitchen Aid

In 1908 an engineer by the name of Herbert Johnson saw a baker using a metal spoon to mix bread dough. He was inspired by his observation and invented the first ever commercial mixer for the Hobart company. It took another 10 years for the factory to create a mixer that could be used in a domestic environment: in 1918 the Hobart mixers made their entrance to the residential homes.

The first women to try these new inventions were the Hobart company spouses and one of them exclaimed: “All I know is it’s the best kitchen aid I’ve ever had”. And thus, the name KitchenAid was born. Nearly 100 years later, KitchenAid, the mother – or rather grandmother – of all mixers is better and stronger than ever. The iconic design graces the Museum of modern Art as a true “Icon of American Design” and passionate gourmets all over the world claim their KitchenAid to be the heart of their kitchen.
