Top Culinary School in South Africa
In South Africa, the name Prue Leith is associated with top-tier culinary education and training thanks to our chefs’ school that bears this name. What do you do when you want to be educated and trained in general or in a specific field? You enrol in a school or tertiary facility that specialises in providing students with the theory and practical applications of the institute’s curricula, designed to equip learners with the fundamental knowledge and skills required in the relevant real-world field of their choice – like ours.
Future Success
One’s choice of school holds many of the secrets of success, particularly in the challenging, creative culinary world. It has been said that some people are born chefs and culinary prodigies, such is their natural aptitude. There are probably many examples of such fortunate folks but, by far, the majority of today’s great cooks and chefs are graduates of great culinary schools. In South Africa and elsewhere, the best education and training that puts one firmly on the path to future success will undoubtedly be provided by the most reputable and very best culinary school in South Africa. In this country, that could only mean the prestigious Prue Leith Culinary Institute.
Refreshing Renewal
Ten years after the intake of our first students in 1997, the then-Prue Leith College of Food and Wine became the Prue Leith Chefs Academy – until now. We are welcoming a new decade and we felt that it was deserving of a new logo, new look, and new direction for the academy, which has always been known for its innovative approach to training new chefs in South Africa. Together with our fresh new image, our school’s name change to the Prue Leith Culinary Institute reflects our exciting overall sense of renewal. We are absolutely delighted that this new development was announced this February, Prue’s birth month. It is also at the time of her milestone 80th birthday and she paid our school – of which she is the patron – another one of her regular visits, something we and our students value and treasure.
However, we are still situated in the same peacefully suburban Centurion and our passion for food and cooking excellence remains. Centurion is close to Pretoria and Midrand and conveniently linked to Johannesburg and other Gauteng towns and cities by a number of modern highways, making it easily accessible to students from many parts of the greater Gauteng area. Throughout the decades and years, the proud reputation of our chefs’ academy and the confident, competent Prue Leith-trained graduates have been developed via our insistence for excellence in education and training. This, in conjunction with constant innovation and renewal, professional passion for fine food, and the encouragement and guidance to excel in its preparation, presentation, and enjoyment is an integral part of our recipe for success in a very competitive field.
Prue Leith CBE has always been a dynamic force to be reckoned with and our school that’s proudly and consistently borne her name since inception is also known for exhibiting these qualities. That is why the Prue Leith Culinary Institute is the best chefs’ facility to receive your professional training.
