• About Event

The Prue Leith Culinary Teachers’ Conference is our annual gathering created exclusively for high school Hospitality and Consumer Studies teachers. It provides a valuable opportunity for educators to reconnect, exchange ideas and discover fresh inspiration for the classroom.

On 2 October 2026, the Prue Leith Culinary Institute invites culinary educators from across South Africa to embark on an immersive journey into the heart of Spanish gastronomy. Inspired by Spain’s vibrant culture, rich culinary heritage and world-renowned hospitality, this year’s conference will celebrate the flavours, traditions and unmistakable passion that define Spanish cuisine.

From the lively tapas bars of San Sebastián and the markets of Barcelona to the olive groves of Andalusia and the coastal flavours of Valencia, delegates will discover the remarkable regional diversity that has made Spain one of the world’s most influential culinary destinations.

More than simply a conference, this event is designed to be a memorable cultural experience that brings food and education together. It offers teachers an opportunity to explore international culinary traditions, engage with fellow educators and return to their classrooms with renewed enthusiasm, fresh perspectives and practical inspiration.

Join us as we say, “¡Bienvenidos a España!” and celebrate the artistry, heritage and vibrant spirit of Spanish gastronomy at the Prue Leith Culinary Teachers’ Conference 2026.
