Culinary institute

You would have to go a long way to find a culinary institute as good as the Prue Leith Chef’s Academy. In the few years that it has been operating the academy has gone from strength to strength and is regularly rated by the country’s top chefs as being the finest chef’s training establishment in South Africa. To make sure that this culinary institute always stays abreast of catering industry requirements there is a board of strategically selected advisors. This board includes outstanding chef Dr Billy Gallagher, Gwynne Conlyn, who is the Director of Operations for the Southern Sun, well known chef Rudi Liebenberg, headmaster Bill Schroeder and, of course, Prue Leith herself. Prue Leith was awarded the OBE for her services to the catering industry in the United Kingdom.

The board of this culinary institute is constantly monitoring the standards of education at the academy in order to ensure that students always get the finest quality training possible. A combination of passion, excellence, creativity, expertise and tradition make an exceptional recipe and are some of the values that set the standards at this outstanding culinary institute. This is what makes the Prue Leith Chef’s Academy so exceptional. The chef’s diploma course at Prue Leith’s starts twice a year in January and July, and lasts for a full eighteen months. Numbers on each chef’s diploma course are limited to thirty students, so there’s always a lot of competition to see who can manage to get a place in the school.
