On-site Fine Dining Training at the Prue Leith Chef’s College

The Prue Leith Chefs Academy, a highly rated training facility in Centurion and also one of the best in the country, opened it’s doors to students and the public in 1997. The on site fine dining Restaurant – Leith’s Restaurant, was voted as one of the top twenty in the country and has also received an award from Business Day for its culinary excellence as one of the top ten restaurants in Gauteng. We have our Academy students to thank for the reputation as it is them who work in the kitchen with their newly acquired skills. The restaurants seats 60 guests and is known to have bookings well in advance from local as well as overseas guests. Students work with only the finest world-class ingredients in the kitchen under the watchful eye of our expert chefs. From Belgian chocolates to Iranian caviar, our students can experiment while customers can indulge in the delectable and unique dishes that emerge from the kitchen. Although it is our students who do the cooking, Prue Leith’s is not considered as a training restaurant and must abide by the same standards as other similar restaurants in Gauteng.

Students of the Academy are trained in every aspect of running a professional kitchen from the menu to the finances. As part of the Diploma course students are not only required to cook, but also serve, wait on tables,  and seat the restaurants guests as well as lay the tables and take orders.
