Prue Leith’s Chef’s School

Prue Leith College of Food and Wine is one of the few chef’s shools that consistently receives the highest praise from respected food and hospitality experts. At our on-site state of the art demonstration kitchen the course layout is comprehensive and includes in-depth hands-on experience. Students practice and hone the skills at the restaurant of the same name as well as at the company’s catering division, Prue Leith Catering. The chef’s school in Pretoria is centrally located in the Lyttleton Manor house in Centurion. Available accomodation is within walking distance of us.

Students are trained and developed in the culinary arts, essential management skills, food and drinks service and wine pairing. This makes for well equipped people who are ready to enter the ever-growing hospitality and tourism industry or to start their own businesses in this industry. Food and wine pairing is an integral part of the 18 month diploma, with diplomas awarded by the esteemed Cape Wine Academy.

Since this chef’s school aims to cover all disciplines of the catering industry, the trainee chef’s are introduced to wines, wine tasting and discussions, wine services and food and wine pairing. Wine course lecturers are delivered by guest lecturers who are winemaker or vitner and are passionate about wines, from the Cape. Prue Leith College of Food and Wine is fully Theta accreditated. Students are therefore asssured to receive high quality education and exposure to world class culinary excellence and creativity.
