Since opening our doors in 1997, many of the Prue Leith Chefs Academy students have gone on to embark on their culinary careers in famous kitchens around the world under chefs like Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and the Roux brothers. There is also no doubt that the academy produces highly sought after students, both on a local and international level, with ‘Prue Leith Graduates Only’ adverts being a regular occurrence in the classifieds. However, this comes as no surprise when taking into account the high standard of chef training that all the students receive during their time at Prue Leith’s. Not only do we teach our students the basic chef skills required to run a successful working kitchen of their own one day, but we also train them with top notch ingredients sourced from around the world so that they can have an understanding of how important these fine elements are when it comes to turning a meal into a masterpiece.
Students get a chance to show off their newly acquired chef skills at the academy’s onsite restaurant, Prue Leith’s. Under the watchful eyes of our professional chefs, students get the opportunity to cook in a real working kitchen environment under the pressure of their mentors and customers.
