Rated as one of South Africa’s finest chefs training institutions, the academy’s passion for food, flavours and expertise makes it the ideal start to a successful cooking career. Our high standards are constantly monitored to ensure that we remain inline with what the industry requires. This is also one of the reasons why our students are so highly sought after on both a local and international level. We also have a fully equipped demonstration kitchen, which is also the working kitchen of our onsite, award wining training restaurant, Prue Leith’s. This allows our students to polish their skills in a really working environment under the watchful eyes of our professional chefs. Voted as one of the country’s top 100 restaurants, we have our students to thank for it’s worldwide success which often has us receiving bookings well in advance from travellers all over the world.
The Prue Leith Group was started in 1996, with the Prue Leith Chefs Academy, previously known as the Prue Leith College of Food and Wine, opening it’s doors to its students in January 1997. This also marked the beginning for the Prue Leith’s restaurant which at the time was known as the Odd Plate Restaurant.
