Chefs School

At our chefs school we believe that it is just as important to train our students in the business side of a restaurant as it is to teach them how to cook. This is why our curriculum includes an all inclusive finance module which, unlike any other school in South Africa, is delivered to our students directly by Chartered Accountants. The module covers menu costings, profit percentages, stock management and much more. Students are also required to team up and put together a business plan of which many have gone on to successfully implement and start a successful business venture of their own after graduating.

When it comes to preparing menus, our students are given high quality ingredients to experiment with. From French frog’s legs to Italian truffles, our students can play with a range of local and international flavours and textures to prepare them for a career in a top restaurant. Students are able to practice their newly acquired cooking skills in our onsite restaurant, Prue Leiths, where it is our students duty to impress the diners under the watchful eyes of our professional chefs.
