Cookery Class

We also offer a part time Diploma in Culinary Studies which is conducted over a period of 12 months, as well as a Certificate in Patisserie which takes only three months to complete. Both our full time and part time diplomas cover all the theoretical and practical aspects of working as a top chef in a professional restaurant. As part of both the diplomas, students will take part in a number of cookery class curriculum’s, touching on everything from hot and cold kitchens to finance and service. Our finance module specifically is delivered to our students by a qualified Chartered Accountant and teaches students the importance of effective stock management and menu costings.

Students are given only the finest ingredients from around the world to experiment with. Once they’ve gained some confidence in the kitchen, they are put to work in our onsite restaurant, Prue Leith’s. Voted as one of the top restaurants in South Africa, it is our students who put their newly acquired cooking skills to the test with hope to impress the experienced diners.
