School of Culinary Arts

All of our lecturers are experts in their individual fields and our gastronomic curriculum is second to none.

Students at the Academy are provided with only the best ingredients available to experiment with. We believe that in order to prepare them for a career in a five star restaurant, we need to familiarise them with five star flavours. Our curriculum is constantly monitored to ensure that we are up to date with what the industry requires. Our students are also highly sought after in the industry with ‘Prue Leith graduates only’ job adverts making a regular appearance in the classifieds. Since opening our doors as a school of culinary arts to aspiring chefs in 1997, many of our students have gone on to work in famous kitchens all over the world as well as receive culinary awards for their cooking excellence.

Our fully equipped demonstration kitchen is also the force that drives our onsite restaurant, Prue Leith’s. Voted as one of the top 100 restaurants in South Africa, it is our students who cook up a feast in the kitchen and impress our diners with their newly acquired skills.
